What is Qigong Flow?
“Qi” means energy and “Gong” is to master or work with. Qigong Flow is a meditative movement that draws upon martial, medical and spiritual qigong where movements flow into one another. Through gentle yet powerful movements, intention and awareness we direct energy flow, draw energy from nature and relax the body, mind and nervous system. Habitual stress from emotional patterns, bodily stress and life can create blockages and stagnation in our qi, leaving us to feel drained, scattered, overwhelmed, stiff or in pain. Qigong flow uses movement, breath, intention, awareness, sound, self massage, and visualization to bring harmony and balance to qi flow within and around us. When qi is moving freely we feel vibrant, energetic, capable and resilient.
Qigong flow is an experience of consciously connecting to your personal qi, to become aware of your current state and with mind-body awareness and intention shift and transform your qi. Ultimately a consistent practice cultivates awareness, grounding, vibrancy, resiliency, harmony and well-being.

About Emily
I knew from an early age that I wanted to help others. It has been through my own journey of helping and healing myself that I have cultivated my own strength, empowerment and awareness. Along the way, I have discovered an array of modalities that I combine to share with others. I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in nutrition, am a certified Ayurveda life coach, and have completed 300 hr yoga teacher training.
Through my studies in energy medicine with Donna Eden and Lauren Walker (Energy Medicine Yoga), I discovered the power of healing oneself with our own energy, awareness and intention. I expanded on this knowledge of working with energy through studying the art and wisdom of Qigong with Yoqi, incorporating movement, deeper studies of the 5 elements, TCM, meditation, breathwork, and intention. I have studied meditation and alchemy with Mastering Alchemy and weave these experiences along with sound healing into my qigong classes and ceremonies.
I have discovered on this path of self healing and self discovery that the healing of ourselves in in our own hands and hearts. The potential to live a life of abundance and wellbeing exists within all of us. I am grateful to all that have walked beside me, supported me and held space for me on my own journey. I am grateful I get to practice all that I have learned for myself as I continue to learn and grow. It is a joy to share my experiences and guide others.

When starting any new physical activity or energy work you can expect to experience new or different sensations. Everyone experiences energy uniquely. In qigong we are moving energy and cultivating energy. During this transformation side effects can occur. In most qigong flow classes, we do build up heat from within as heat is transformative. When moving energy in qigong as a beginner it may feel like heat, tingling, shaking or buzzing sensations in specific areas or all over the body. At most there could be nausea or lightheadedness in which case stay with the breathe, sit down if needed and let the teacher know so support can be provided. These sensations will pass as it is energy moving and clearing.

While sound healing often creates a deep sense of relaxation, it can at times feel intense. You might find yourself feeling happy, angry, sad, or upset about the thoughts or memories that come up for you. This is normal and know that what arises is coming up to go away. Stay with the breath and follow what your body needs, deep sigh, yawning, movement, crying are ways the body releases energy and are all perfectly normal.
